A NISHAPUR CONICAL POTTERY BOWL on short foot, the white ground painted under the clear glaze in manganese with a bold band of simulated kufic with elongated inverted hastae forming a regular radiating design, the exterior plain, 10th century (repaired, one area of restoration), 10¼in. (26.2cm.) diam., and A NISHAPUR POTTERY CONICAL BOWL on short foot, the white interior painted with a central manganese dot, a band of very cursory similar calligraphy around the rim, the exterior plain, 10th century (repaired) 9½in. (24.1cm.) diam., and A NISHAPUR POTTERY BOWL of rounded form with everted rim on short foot, the white interior with a few random dotted motifs around a short panel of stylised kufic inscription, three groups of diagonal hatched lines around the rim, the exterior plain, 10th century (intact, glaze slightly chipped)
