Ury visited London in 1926 painting several impressive views of the river Thames and the Embankment. In composition terms, his Embankment pictures are strongly reminiscent of his celebrated Unter den Linden Berlin street scenes but are perhaps more impressionistic in their light effects, colour range and handling of paint.
