Shiraz, Dhu'l-Qa'da AH 992/November 1584 AD

from a Khamseh, comprising the end of the Haft Paikar and the start of the Iskandernameh, 20ll. of black nasta'liq in four columns, ff.1v. and 2r. with the script within gold clouds painted with floral sprays, blue, orange and gold illuminated divisions, grey and white margin between gold and black rules, within gold and polychrome illuminated lobed surround, f1v. with illuminated panel above with the title written in white nasta'liq, f.2r. with similar smaller panel in text, f.1r. with illuminated triangular panels and colophon dated the end of Dhu'l-Qa'da 992, f.2v. with divisions as above and grey, gold, orange and green margins between black rules, (negligible staining and worming, repairs to inner margin)
