manuscript on buff paper, 283ff. plus two flyleaves, 15ll. of flowing black naskh, punctuation in red, gold roundels or rosettes between verses, silver and gold margins between black rules, red outer rule, divisions of text maked marginally in red and by illuminated medallions, sura headings in blue in plain cartouches in illuminated panels, (negligible smudging and staining, very occasional repairs to edges), gold and polychrome illuminated opening bifolio (small repairs), illuminated colphon on final folio signed by al-Sayyid Muhammad Amin a pupil of al-Sayyid Ibrahim al-Afif, known as Kusarkhawaja and dated 1266 (light smudging), maroon morocco binding with green morocco central panel with gold stamped lattice and gold margin, green paper doublures with gold painted sun-burst medallion and border (some scuffing and rubbing)
