manuscript on buff paper, 308ff. plus two flyleaves, each with 15ll. of fine black naskh, punctuation in red, two-colour gold roundels between verses, wide gold margin between black rules, red outer rule, illuminated marginal floral devices marking the juz', other divisions of text marked marginally in red within gold-outlined cartouches, sura headings in white on gold cartouches in two-colour gold illuminated panels sometimes heightened with colour, (occasional smudging and staining), gold and polychrome fully illuminated opening bifolio (smudging, small repairs), final five folios containing prayers and similar, colophon on penultimate folio signed by Al-Hajj Shaikh 'Abd al-Qadir Khulusi a pupil of al-Hajj Ahmad al-'Afif al-Mukawi and dated 1281, final folio painted with a gold and polychrome floral bouquet, brown morocco binding and flap painted in two-colour gold and silver with a panel of interwoven fruiting vine within rope-pattern borders (rubbed and repaired), blue paper doublures painted in gold and polychrome with a floral bouquet in an oval cartouche and foliate spandrels (some wear)
