AN ATTIC BLACK-FIGURE AMPHORA,
Side A: showing Dionysos riding on a mule, the draped god with long beard and wearing a vine leaf fillet, looking back towards a naked satyr, another satyr in front of the mule, both figures with long beards, looking down towards the ground, each with one hand extended
Side B: three warriors standing in profile to the left, each wearing a cloak, greaves and crested helmet, holding a large round shield and two spears
each panel surmounted by a band of interlocking lotus buds, rays around the foot, details incised and in added purple and white, repaired, early 6th Century B.C.
