With rebrowned twist barrels (minor surface pitting) signed 'W. Smith. London' in gold capital letters on the unusually broad flat rib, and with large silver fore-sight, serial numbered recessed patent breeches each with four gold lines extending across the rib, and platinum-lined touch-hole, finely engraved grooved tang, signed engraved serial numbered bevelled locks each with stepped rounded tail, large roller, and raised rainproof pan (left top jaw and screw expertly replaced), figured walnut half-stock (some bruising), chequered grip, engraved iron mounts with faint traces of original blued finish, trigger-plate with urn finial, silver escutcheon engraved with owner's crest and intials 'JC', and original brass-mounted ramrod (iron parts with areas of light surface pitting), London proof marks
