A GEORGE II HARDSTONE AND GOLD CAGEWORK SNUFF-BOX
circa 1750/1760
Cartouche-shaped dark green bloodstone snuff-box with slightly concave sides, the lid set with a pierced and stamped gold cagework boldly chased with shellwork, reeded c-scrolls, a dolphin, a ewer, flowers and foliage, the front side with two foliate scrolling gold pilasters and in the centre a nude child seated on foliate c-scrolls, reeded gold mounts with slightly raised wavy thumbpiece
