A GEORGE II JEWELLED GOLD CAGEWORK AND ROCK-CRYSTAL SNUFF-BOX
circa 1750
Rectangular rock-crystal snuff-box, the cover, base and four side panels applied with a pierced and stamped gold cagework chased and engraved with scènes champêtres of amorous peasant children, within c-scrolls and foliage, the gold mounts similarly chased, the raised silver thumbpiece decorated with flowers and foliage studded with old-cut diamonds and gemstones including rubies and emeralds
