A RARE PAIR OF IMPERIAL KINGFISHER FEATHER, PEARL AND GEM-SET EAR-PENDANTS AND A HEADDRESS ORNAMENT
Each ear-hook with a gold filigree phoenix, suspending a detachable gold filigree pendant with a shou character delicately inlaid with kingfisher feathers between stylised foliate motifs, the reverse with a bat in flight amid flower and leaves, embellished with pearls and spinels; accompanied by a gold filigree headdress ornament with a gem-set beetle amidst auspicious flowers and leaves, enhanced by pearls, spinels and sapphires, (minor losses, gold tarnished), 18th century, appliqué 6.4 cm.
