A pair of Viennese ivory, silver, gilt-metal and enamel vases on stands
Circa 1885
Each vase surmounted by a square waisted neck with canted angles, centred to each side by a mythological scene, above a square bulbous body, centred to each side by a mythological medallion, headed to each angle by a winged female caryatid, on a spreading socle, centred to each side by a courting couple, on a square socle, above a square platform, centred to each side by a further mythological scene, flanked to each angle by a quarter-baluster, supported by a square tapering column, with canted angles, each side with three conforming scenes, on a stepped spreading base, each side with scrolling foliage centred by a medallion above a serpentine apron
Overall: 55¼ in. (140.5 cm.) high;
The vases: 18¼ in. (46.5 cm.) high (2)
