A three line a.l.s. from Thackeray, dated Onslow Square, Feb 3 1858, to 'my dear Dean', accepting an invitation; a similar a.l.s. from Browning, dated 19 Warwick Crescent, May 4 '65, to 'My dear Lord Archbishop', accepting an invitation to dine; and a collection of approximately 70 other a.l.s. and 15 clipped signatures, the a.l.s. by Thomas Moore, Sir Robert Peel, Lord John Russell, John Wilson Crocker, Sir Thomas Lawrence, Henry Gratton, Charles Stewart Parnell, the 14th Earl of Derby, Prince Albert, W.C.Macready , Maria Edgeworth and others, the clipped signatures include those of William IV, Queen Victoria, Disraeli, W.E. Gladstone, Elizabeth Sewell, Maria Edgeworth and Admiral Hood, some with portrait photographs mounted on the opposite page, mounted or loosley-inserted in one album.
