A pair of Japanese bamboo brush holders inlaid in ivory, mother-of-pearl, hardstones and carved in relief with warriors in combat with a boar and an eagle beside rivers in a mountainous wooded landscape, a band of key-pattern to the rims (cracks, some inlay missing) -- 11½in.high; and a pair of bamboo brush holders carved in relief and lacquered with insects, butterflies, birds and a toad beside bamboo issuing from rockwork -- 7¾in.high, signed Gyokuchinsai Baiha.
