A Namban export lacquered wood cabinet of rectangular form on a later stand and hinged door opening to reveal nine square and rectangular drawers of varying sizes surrounding a central drawer with lock in the shape of an arch, all decorated in gold hiramakie and inlaid aogai with flowering branches among leaves and foliage surrounded by bands of zig-zags on a roironuri ground, the top and sides fitted with engraved gilt-bronze mounts and carrying handles and decorated with bands of key-pattern and central cartouches of scrolling foliage, the base and door similarly decorated -- height overall 33½.in.high, the cabinet Momoyama period.
