A Japanese lacquer saddle decorated in hiramakie with cranes in flight on a diamond-pattern around a mon roundel of three leaves on a roironuri ground -- 14¾in.long, signed Hirao with kakihan, kambun 10, 1st Month, 10th year (1670), auspicious day; a pair of iron abumi inlaid in silver with flowerheads on a trellis-pattern ground -- 10½in.long, 17th century; and a collection of horse trappings including: stirrup leathers, a crupper, saddle flaps, felt and silk traces, bridle and bit, and covering for the hindquarters, variously decorated in gilt with mon, and honeycomb pattern (some wear).
