The iron screw steamer Ocean Prince, 1120 tons, was built for the Prince Steam Ship Co. by Short Bros. of Sunderland in 1885. Rated AI by Lloyd's, she was 260 feet in length, 37 feet in beam and had a 20 foot draught. The Prince Line operated several routes but when their profitable Italy-New York passenger service was withdrawn in 1906, a number of their vessels became superfluous. Ocean Prince was amonst them and in 1907 she was sold the Russian Pernau Company. Renamed Pernau, she then sailed out of that named port until being wrecked off Molle (southern Sweden) on 1 March 1911 whilst en route from Sarpsborg to Riga in ballast.
