A rare early 19th-Century miniature equatorial telescope, signed on the base plate W & S Jones, 30 Holborn, London., the telescope with twin pin-hole sights and draw-tube focusing, the limb with vernier scale over the vertical half-circle, engraved 90°-0-90°, supported by a diagonal arm from the hour circle engraved I-XII (X 2) with five minute divisions and hour vernier scale divided IV-0-IV, the lower vertical half-circle with scale divided 80°-0-100° with vernier and clamp over the horizontal circle divided in 4 quadrants, with level and cross-bubble, on 3 adjustable feet, in mahogany case - 9½ins. (24.1cm.) high.
