A South German walnut, birch and line-inlaid gilt-metal-mounted kneehole desk with recessed serpentine leather-lined top above five drawers about the kneehole and pendant apron on cabriole legs with gilt clasps and gilt sabots, mid 18th century, probably re-constructed from a commode, later mounts - 57in. (145cm.) wide, 28½in. (72cm.) deep, 32in. (81.5cm.) high.
