A SUITE OF NORTH ITALIAN MECCA (GILT-VARNISHED SILVERED) AND GROTTO SEAT FURNITURE
Attributed to Pauly et Cie, Venice, late 19th Century
Comprising of a canape, a pair of armchairs and a rocking-chair, the backs and seats in the form of scallop shells, the armrests in the shape of dolphins, on naturalistic cabriole legs simulating rockwork, the rocking-chair on sea-horses above curved dolphins, joined by stretchers, losses and refreshments to decoration (4)
