A detailed wood and metal electric powered model of the Innman Line Atlantic Steam ship 'City of Paris' of circa 1895. --26 x 93in (66 x 236cm).
With masts and rigging and deck details including carved female figurehead, cleats, bollards, deck rails, companionways, deck lights, hatches, ventilators, bridge and superstructure with wing bridge over, ship's wheel, deck houses, three ship's boats. The hull, with three blade propeller and rudder is finished in pink, black and white. Mounted on two brass supports on display base, (some old damages). Glazed case and stand.
The only other ship in the Inman Fleet was the SS 'City of New York'. Both ships operated between Liverpool, Boston and New York between 1895 and 1910. These ships had the reputation as the most luxurious liners afloat in their time, but the Line ceased to operate before th First World War.
