A tulipwood, foliate-marquetry and gilt-metal-mounted bureau plat, the sliding banded top with a moulded edge centred by a flower spray above a flared frieze, the drawer fitted as a poudreuse with two hinged compartments and a rachetted slope on clasp-headed cabriole legs and scrolling sabots, with paper label Bureau Plat, Meuble S. Germaine style Louis XV Epoch 1965 cette piece et une "copie d'ancien reproduite fidelement en nombre limite de pieces par des "maitres ebenistes" t'ont employe les memes bois exotiques dans la facon d'epoque. L'original ancien se trouve au Chateau de Comarctin -- 42½in. (108cm.) wide, 27½in. (70cm.) deep (closed) 30½in. (77cm.) high.
