The opening is inscribed "Izzatullah's travels given to me by one of his relations, Selik(?) Zudar al-Marutt - Our further experience proves it to be very correct. WMA"
W.M.A. was Capt. W.M. Anderson of the Bengal Artillery in whose hand the notes appear to be.
