An Imari teapot and cover, and a Kannon Arita saucer
Edo Period (Late 17th Century), the kannon 19th Century
The teapot of compressed globular form, decorated with a gilt-ground shaped panel enclosing a magnolia stem, on a ground of morning glory, repeated on the flat cover, 7.5 cm. high; an Arita blue and white lobed dish painted with chrysanthemum an peony issuing from rockwork around a central roundel, Chenghua six character mark, rim cracks and chips, 18.4 cm. diam.; and an enamelled figure of Kannon, standing in long robes on a lotus petal, 31.7 cm. high (3)
