A CYPRIOT RED POLISHED WARE PLANK FIGURE
EARLY BRONZE AGE, CIRCA 2000-1900 B.C.
Of Slab type, the flattened rectangular body with protruding nose, incised dots for nostrils and 'ring-of-holes' for eyes above, with projecting rudimentary arms held horizontally and decorated with incised dots, traces of headdress detail, 6 7/8 in. (17.6 cm.) high; and three miniature figures, comprising an incised Red Painted Ware Slab figure, possibly a baby, with protruding nose and ear flaps, incised holes for the eyes and genitalia, single dotted neck-band and traces of headdress, 1¾ in. (4.4 cm.) high; the upper part of an Incised Red Polished Ware plank figure, with nose in relief and arms protruding downwards, dotted eyes and incised neck-band, probably from a pyxis, lower body restored, 2 5/8 in. (6.9 cm.) high, both circa 2000-1900 B.C.; and a Handmade White Painted Ware figure with nose and arms indicated in relief, incised fingers, with large semicircular double-pierced ears, probably from a composite group, Middle Bronze Age, 1900-1650 B.C., 2 3/8 in. (6.2 cm.) high, all mounted (4)
