An ivory netsuke of two females and a fox
Late Edo Period, signed Tomochika
the witch Tamamo no Mae standing with a hiogi held aloft in her right hand, behind and to her side stands a nine-tailed fox, to the right another female figure holding a dagger, the himotoshi formed by the fox's legs, incised signature to base -- 1¾in. (4.5cm.) high, (minor wear).
