A Satsuma globular jar
19th century
with everted bamboo moulded neck and short foot, painted and gilt with a continuous band of birds perched on the branches of a blossoming cherry tree, the neck with a band of Mon on a ground of scattered flowerheads, the foot with a band of chrysanthemums amongst swirling waters -- 6½in. (16.5cm.) high, signed Dai Nihon, Tojiki Goshigaisha, Ryozan, below the Yasuda Company trade mark.
