An Imperial globular tripod koro and wooden cover
19th century
the lobed body painted and gilt with Kannon and numerous Rakan seated before irises, peonies and chrysanthemums, the feet painted with leaves issuing from a band of floral lappets to the base, the wooden cover carved with coiled dragons and stylised petals below a flowerhead finial -- 6¼in. (15.8cm.) high overall, signed Hoei Satsuma-yaki Morinaga sei and sealed.
