A Satsuma coffee set
19th century
comprising eleven coffee cups and twelve saucers, painted and gilt with bands of cartouches of butterflies in flight above flowers and on grounds of brocade pattern and overlapping flowerheads, the centres of the saucers and the interiors of the cups with a multitude of butterflies in flight -- the saucers 4¾in. (12cm.) diam, signed in gilt Kinkozan and sealed Kinkozan zo, (some wear).
