A George I longcase clock movement
Windmills, London. Circa 1715
The 12 in. square gilt dial signed Windmills London on the silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring with half and half-quarter hour markers, the matted centre with subsidiary seconds ring (lacking hand) and calendar aperture, ringed winding holes, with pierced blued steel hour hand (lacking minute hand), Indian mask-and-foliate spandrels with foliate engraving between, the movement secured with five ringed pillars and with anchor escapement and rack strike on bell (now lacking)
