A 19th-Century Chinese wooden multiple sundial,
the octagonal base with a central glazed compass on the upperside, surrounded by compass directions and four inclining dials with folding brass gnomons and Chinese characters in black and red, each with a folding brass support on the back to fit into a series of slots, each labelled according to latitude, the underside with an inscription in Chinese -- 6¼in. (15.8cm.) wide; and two geomancer's compasses, each -- 5 3/8in. (13.6cm.) dia. (3)
