A late 18th-Century brass Augsburg-pattern equinoctial compass sundial,
signed on the underside of the compass box L. Grässl, further engraved Eleva Poli Obmüz Paris Bozen 40 Rom Konigsberg Lisbon 39, the shaped hour ring graduated I-XII (x2) with sprung gnomon, the latitude arc graduated 0-90°, with sprung plummet support with plummet and wind vane, the compass with blued-iron needle with brass cap and glazed cover, the horizontal plate with foliate decoration and graduated with thirty-two points of the compass -- 3¼in. 8cm. square
