Bar to M.C. London Gazette 26.7.1918 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty in a hostile attack. On two occasions he crossed ground heavily swept by machine-gun fire to bring up ammunition. He showed great coolness and cheerfulness throughout the action and set a fine example'.
