A FRENCH OAK CONSOLE TABLE
19th Century
The later serpentine white-veined liver marble top with moulded edge above a shaped frieze carved with upswept acanthus leaves centred by a pierced scrolled lambrequin, on S-scrolled acanthus-headed and floral swagged supports and terminating in foliate sabots joined by a small plinth, the underside of the marble inscribed in black pencil 'Console Auguste Chastel/LXV' and in red pencil 'Console LXV', possibly previously gilt
