A port view of a clipper ship, outward bound, under full sail. The hull of the ship is set in a carved sea which is painted. The hull is built up from the solid and painted black with a gold waist. The deck of the ship is fitted with cabins, ship's boats, hatches and other details. The model is rigged with three masts and a full suit of sails set. The model is rigged with some standing and running rigging and has an American flag. The background is painted and shows clouds, sea gulls and points of land in the background.
