Yongzheng (1723-35)
The semi-eggshell porcelain finely enamelled similarly to the preceding lot, with a central roundel depicting a cockerel standing on blue pierced rockwork beside tree peony sprays, below a wide pale lilac cell-pattern band reserved with three floral cartouches edged in blue enamel and gilt enclosing rose, peony and chrysanthemum on the rounded sides, between narrow yellow and blue diaper-pattern bands, the reverse applied with a minutely mottled enamel of rich ruby colour, cracked
7¾ in. (19.8 cm.) diam.
