A FAMILLE ROSE MEISSEN-STYLE TEABOWL AND SAUCER
Circa 1750
Enamelled in a central cartouche with a Chinese bearded dignitary smoking a pipe and seated on a rocky boulder in conversation with a younger man, his sword to his side, all in a rural scene with further groups of figures and triangular mountains in the distance, the rim with a narrow band of gilt, iron-red and grisaille scrolling foliage repeated in the bowl interior
