by Claude-François Thierry (fl. 1775-1793), marked, with the charge and discharge marks of Jean-François Kalendrin 1789-1792, later struck with two Parisian post-1838 restricted warranty marks for gold
Slightly tapering yellow gold étui of octagonal section, the cover, sides and base with burnished gold panels within dotted borders, the sablé borders chased with foliage, quatrefoils, pellets and laurel in yellow and red gold, raised red gold rims, the domed top of the cap chased with a swirling floral rosette on a matted ground surrounded by a husk border, blank matrix
