A GERMAN GOLD-MOUNTED HARDSTONE SNUFF-BOX
probably Dresden, circa 1750
Rectangular box, the cover, sides and base set with panels of bloodstone, the outsides of those on the cover and four sides engraved with irregular cartouches of wavy reeding, plain base, the slightly raised gold mounts engraved with reeded c-scrolls and rocaille, the four side-dividers furthermore set with rows of rose-cut diamonds, wavy flange
