A Dutch silver two-handled bread-basket
Mark of Reynier Brandt, Amsterdam, 1765
Shaped oval, the sides engraved and pierced with ribbon-tied trelliswork, with rocaille and shell rim and two scroll and rocaille handles, the centre engraved with a coat-of-arms, the later fitted frame with a baluster-shaped partly fluted caster engraved with similar coat-of-arms, and with four cut-glass bottles, the basket marked on base, the caster and later frame unmarked
