Syria, 13th century
Of slightly rounded conical form on short foot, the white interior divided into four quadrants, two with overall scrolling leafy fronds, the other two with diagonal serrated bands on scrolling grounds, plain band around the rim, the exterior with a band of cursory naskh inscription, areas of silvery iridescence, small repaired rim break
7in. (17.7cm.) diam.
