Lot Essay

In this room a great chandelier hangs above the table and a Louis XV chimneypiece flanked by marble columns is visible in the background. Above the fireplace there is a pair of 18th century Delft jar and cover. To the background on the left part of a commode can be seen, which is a very elegant example of German furniture of the mid 18th century, similar to that made by the German furniture-maker Abraham Roentgen.
