A NAPOLEON III BRONZE AND ORMOLU MANTEL CLOCK
Circa 1865, by D Mercier
Surmounted by a bronze group of Leda and the Swan, the diaphanously draped Leda sitting and looking towards the amorous swan; the white enamel dial signed 'Mercier à Paris Fque de Bronzes' with black roman hours and arabic minutes, in a leaf cast and beaded bezel, flanked by a pair of goats' heads and cornucopia and issuing flowers around the fluted and leaf-cast plinth, with a frieze of putti to the lower edge, and standing on hairy paw feet
