A Dutch Delft blue and white figural liquor barrel
1760-1780
Naturalistically modelled in relief as a seated lady wearing an elaborate star-studded dress, short cloak and flower-encrusted hat, her neck with an opening (to fill with fluid), the base moulded to the front with a shell surrounding an aperture upholding a small copper faucet with fish-shaped finial, the lower part with rocaille relief decoration surrounding a semi-circular opening (some old restorations to extremities and rims)
