A Delft doré shaped plaque of the Finding of Moses
Circa 1740
Gilt and painted in colours with the biblical scene (Ex.2:5-6) of Moses found by the Pharaoh's daughter after a print by Joseph Wagner, (Venice 1764), after Jacopo Amigoni (1675-1752), depicting the Pharaoh's daughter flanked by a child servant and a maiden holding an umbrella, another maiden bending forward to the infant Moses in a basket floating in the river, the shaped raised border with a band of shells flanked by foliage, diaperwork and scrolls, pierced with an aperture to the top
