Rectangular chest-shaped wooden casket covered all over with a flecked tortoiseshell veneer embellished with silver studs, the inside lined with purple velvet, the hinged lid inset with a mirror protected by a purple velvet cushion, the silver-mounted base fitted to contain two cut glass flasks with turned silver caps, a silver propelling pencil, four pencil-sharpening implements and a tapering crystal seal with engraved matrix and faceted tapering sides; together with a rectangular mammoth tooth snuff-box with reeded silver mounts, corners and foliate thumbpiece
