Lot Essay

Abraham Hesselink (1862-1930) was a student at the Rijksacademie Amsterdam and in Brussels with Van der Stappen where this work was made. Works by his hand are also in the collection of the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam. Most likely the present lot is a unique cast.
