Edo Period (18th Century)
decorated in underglaze blue, iron-red, green, aubergine, turquoise, yellow, black enamels and gilt, with a roundel of flower sprays amid a band reserved with plantain, maple, prunus and flowers alternating with shaped panels of peonies, all below a flowerhead border, bunches of flowers to the exterior -- 11in. (28cm.) diam. (minor rubbing)
