The first rounded rectangular with attached himotoshi, carved in Kamakura-bori style and originally gold-lacquered, most of the lacquer worn away, the interior red lacquer; the second oval with attached himotoshi, carved in Kamakura-bori style originally red-lacquered, most of the lacquer worn away, interiors red lacquer, shoulders and risers black lacquer, old wear

The first with a Chinese scholar and attendant on one side and a scholar seated at a table on the other side, with a cycad tree in the background; the second with a stylised plant design, probably a peony
