The circular cup chased and applied with a band of laurel foliage and with foliage rim, the scroll handle with ram's mask and rosette terminals, the body applied with Medusa mask and flanked by winged flower bearing nymphs, the saucer with a band of laurel foliage and foliage rim, marked on body and saucer

Lot Essay

The original design for these cups appear in the Odiot design book as no. 302:

'dessin au trait pour une tasse et soucoupe mi creuse, molette lauriers - tasse sur pied bas mouluré feuilles d'eau, culot feuilles de lauriers, applique femme et zéphir, en haut molette lauriers, anse rinceau, attache tete de bélier'.
