A Victorian silver centrepiece and a George IV mirror-plateau
Mark of Paul Storr, London, 1837, the mirror-plateau 1820
The centrepiece on four shell, scroll and acanthus foliage feet, the spool-shaped base applied with a cow, bull and two rams, each cast and realistically chased, with acanthus foliage stem terminating in three bifurcated two-light scroll branches, each with shaped circular drip-pan and vase-shaped socket with detachable plain nozzles, alternatively fitted with shaped circular glass dish, with central acanthus foliage dish holder and cut-glass dish, the base engraved with a coat-of-arms and the rim with an inscription, marked on base, stem, branches, sockets, nozzles and central basket
The circular mirror-plateau on four shell, scroll and foliage feet and with a band of scrolling acanthus foliage on a matted ground, with egg-and-dart rim and wood base, marked on base, rim and brackets
The centrepiece 25in. (63.5cm.) high
The mirror-plateau 23½in. (60cm.) diam.
The centrepiece 294oz. (9,165gr.)
The arms are those Cromie impaling Johnson

The inscription reads, 'NO. 70 PUBLISHED AS THE ACT DIRECTS BY STORR & MORTIMER 156 NEW BOND STREET LONDON FEBR 28 1838'
